| Demonstrating its commitment to the economic regeneration
and well-being of the Parish, Jet Coast Development Trust, with
the help of Robert Goodwill MP, officially opened the doors
of the Staithes Gateway Centre on the 15th of September 2005.
Located within the Parish of Hinderwell, Staithes Gateway Centre
is a purpose built business centre. Comprising of seven modest
units, the Centre offers flexible, affordable low-cost office
and studio space solutions for both new and established businesses.

Increasingly though, due to the unique way in which Jet
Coast Development Trust operates, and coupled with its
not-for-profit nature, the Centre is thoughtfully run
as a wrap-around business support mechanism, delivering
multi-layered assistance, available to individuals and
SMEs. As a recognised Business
Link ‘Local Access Point’, the Centre provides
access to essential business information. This completely
free service - available to established businesses and
residents of the parish – offers practical advice
on such issues as; grant availability, tax returns,
health & safety, IT & e-commerce, marketing
and international trade.
The Staithes Gateway Centre also displays
local employment opportunities from the two nearest
job centres, Whitby and Loftus.
NYMAC, the North Yorkshire Moors and
Coast Business Advice Agency, runs drop-in sessions
from the Gateway Centre for anyone considering starting
up in business. |
